It is surprising that the Secret Buddha Garden is the creation of a local farmer – Khun Nim Thongsuk. There are a great number of Buddha statues, deities, sacred animals and humans in various poses amid the lush tropical jungle.
Situated near the Big Buddha, Wat Plai Laem stands out from the crowd for its special white 18-arm image of Guanyin – the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. This Wat provides travellers with a view of Chinese-Thai art and architecture with a variety of Buddha statues in different sizes and shapes. After giving a small donation to the Wat, you can feed the fish on the surrounding lake and enjoy the tranquillity of the atmosphere.
Famous for being one of the historical parts of Bophut, Fisherman’s Village Walking Street is decorated by many rustic-style market stalls, boutique stores and trendy restaurants. Every Friday, this quiet and sleepy town Bophut becomes lively and colourful with a variety of wares because of this walking street which opens from 05:00 pm to 23:00.
