This pagoda was built in 1849 which is situated in My Tho, Tien Giang province with its area is nearly 2000m2. Vinh Trang Buddhist pagoda is famous for its architecture - the blending of Vietnamese, Khmer, Chinese and also European styles. This is also the home to 140 types of flora, 70 species of birds, 11 types of animals, 25 species of reptiles, and 23 kinds of fish. Tra Su is a mangrove forest which flooded throughout the year but the most beautiful time is from August to December. You will pass waterbirds of all shapes and colours, dancing between the reeds and lotus blossoms, and their small bodies and hollow bones barely making a dent on the leaves. You will witness the most stunningly peaceful views once you are in the heart of the forest. This is an absolutely not-to-be-missed half-day trip from Chau Doc.
