An awesome sunrise experience at Tiger Hill
When travelling in Darjeeling, a beautiful mountainous city in the Indian State of West Bengal, an early morning trip to Tiger Hill for chasing the dawn over the Mt. Khangchendzongha - the third highest peak in the world, is a must-do experience for any tourists here. Located at an altitude of 2600m above the sea level and just about 11km from the city's centre, Tiger Hill is the highest point in Darjeeling. The Hill is world-widely noted for its breathtaking views of the sunrise over the great eastern Himalayan Mountains. Getting up at around 4:00 AM, you will spend a 40-minute car driving to arrive at the Tiger Hill. Reaching the ideal viewpoints, get your camera ready to catch priceless moments of the first rays of the rising sun over the snow-capped Himalayan mountains. The best view of Mt. Khangchendzongha can be witnessed from here and the spectacle would be much more incredible during the sunrise. If you're lucky and the day is clear, you might even perfectly see the legendary Mt. Everest and other mighty peaks from a distance. It is no wonder that Tiger Hill is probably Darjeeling’s most-visited tourist attraction for epic photographs and exceptional sightseeing opportunities.
