Discover Jain Temples of Ranakpur
Set in the remote and peaceful valley of Ranakpur, Pali district of Rajasthan, situate the beautiful Jain Temples, an ancient temple complex dating back from between the 14th to 15th century. Dedicated to Adinatha, one of the founders of the Jain religion, these temples here are popularly known as the largest and most important temples in Jainism. The temples are built of light-colored marble but their architectural styles are obviously different from the Persian and Mughal-influenced style of the Taj Mahal. Covering a massive area amidst the lush greenery, the Jain Temples have 29 halls, 80 domes, and consists of 1,444 marble pillars, each one is completely unique and intricately carved in exquisite detail. The stunning exteriors, elaborate interiors, and numerous ancient statues within the temples have crafted striking visual feasts of both distinct architectural arts and great religious significance. It is among the major sacred pilgrimage sites of Jainists in India and famously considered as one of the most-visited religious places across the country.
