On the north bank of the Brahmaputra River in the state of Assam, India covers an area of 78.81 square km of the Orang national park, which is known as the mini Kaziranga national park due to the similar landscape and ecosystem of two parks. It was established as a sanctuary in 1985 and declared a national park in 1999. The park got the name as it is said that the area was once the dwelling of the Orang tribe.
