Hike to Australian Camp
Located on the north-west of Pokhara, Australian Camp is a popular trek in Nepal for those looking for a quick and quiet escape into the mountains of the Himalayas. Starting from Kande, this easy and short trek route is a pleasant walk offering good-looking views over the valleys and the Annapurna mountain range in a clear day, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Machhapurchhre, and Lamjung Himal. A 1.5 to 2 hour hike through dense forests, and along the hillsides will take you to Australian Camp situated on the ridge. There, hikers can choose to spend a night at several lodges for eating and sleeping before continuing through perfect jungle trails to the Nepali typical village of Dhampus and through the terraced rice fields to Phedi. This trek can be done all year round and is also very suitable for travelers of all ages and beginners without any hiking experience.
