Mount Kinabalu Climbing
Though it may take at least two days and one night to conquer Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, at the height of 4,095 meters above sea level, there are still a lot of adventure seekers and traveling hikers keen on this ultimate journey. Kick off from the starting point, Timpohon Gate with your mountain guide after some assigning procedures, your first half hike is a 6km trek up to Panalaban, taking 4 – 5 hours with rest-stops. Expect some steep stairs and rocky terrain. As you ascend to higher elevations, you can notice the landscapes change from dense tropical rainforest to mossy-alpine vegetation. An overnight is made at Panalaban Base Camp and the second day will take you to the summit. Enjoy the spectacular views around and hope to witness a nice sunrise before descending back to the mountain base. The total 17.4 km climb is not easy but the park scenery from the top is worth it all.
