Pura Beji temple
If you are keen on exploring beautiful temples in Bali, tick off your checklist with a visit to Pura Beji Temple in the northern region of Bali. Dating back to the 15th century, this ancient temple is located in the village of Sangsit, Buleleng regency that was dedicated to Dewi Sri, the goddess looks after the rice fields and plantations. What makes this temple special is its perfect carvings, inspired by the great Hindu epics and local legends. These carvings cover most of shrine bases and sandstone walls with vine motifs or figures of flowers, a fine example of temple carving in northern rococo style. The timeworn structures are surrounded by courtyards of clipped green lawns and old frangipani trees that make Pura Beji a truly tranquil and refreshing place to visit.
