Tirta Gangga
Named after the sacred river Ganges in Hinduism, Tirta Gangga is a former royal water palace in eastern Bali built by the late King of Karangasem in 1946. This one-hectare complex is a system of large and small pools, fountains, stone carvings and many large meticulous gardens, where visitors can take a leisurely stroll, snap impressive pictures with thousands of colorful Koi fish, and relax in the ground‘s tranquil atmosphere. Though destroyed much by the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963, Tirta Gangga soon gets back its inherent splendor and now becomes a tempting attraction to travelers.
