Visit National Institute of Zorig Chusum in Thimphu
If you want to learn more about Bhutan's traditional arts, a visit to the National Institute of Zorig Chusum in Thimphu could be an interesting experience while you're in the capital city. The institute was established in 1971 by the Government of Bhutan and commonly known as "the painting school" since it offers courses that instruct the country's traditional arts. There are thirteen crafts in total and the students here will be taught to specialize in each skill such as painting, sculpturing, wood carving, embroidery, weaving, etc. Visiting here, you can have the chance to witness the young students carefully focusing on their work, take some photos about them, and buy some of nice works that are sold in the school showroom if you want.
