Visit the most picturesque karstic mountains of Guilin - The Elephant Trunk Hill
The Elephant Trunk Hill is not only one of the sought-after tourist attractions but also the famous symbol of Guilin. It is located in Xiangshan Park (or Elephant Hill Scenic Area) at the confluence of Taohua River and Li River. The hill got the special name due to its strange karstic formation which looks like a giant elephant drinking water with its trunk into the calm river. The natural round hole under the elephant trunk is known as Water-Moon Cave because the cave itself and its reflection together form a huge bright moon on the river, which make it even more terrific at night. With its imposing topography, the Elephant Trunk Hill is a must-stop sightseeing place during your trip to Guilin. Climbing to the hilltop is also a great opportunity to discover another bird's eye view over the amazing Guilin's cityscape. Besides admiring spectacular natural scenes around the hill, visitors can visit some attractive spots within the park including the ancient Yun Feng Temple, the love island, or Pu Xian Pagoda that dated back from the Ming Dynasty, etc.
